Donors Who Make A Difference

The Builders Association of the Twin Cities (BATC- Housing First Minnesota) worked their magic again this year. This time with projects at our Brooklyn Park Home. Contract Interiors a member of the BATC – Housing First Minnesota Foundation donated and installed new flooring. The entryway, reception area, hallways and living rooms in each of the four wings received this generous donation.

Minnesota Rusco then came in with some sub-contractors, all members of BATC – Housing First Minnesota and renovated two of Brooklyn Park’s bathrooms making them into state of the art roll-in-showers.

On January 31st, approximately 30 BATC – Housing First Minnesota members and Board representatives along with Homeward Bound Board members and staff celebrated these wonderful donations at a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony. Homeward Bound staff thanked BATC – Housing First Minnesota and gave tours to highlight the wonderful work.

Stephen Roche, the 2018 BATC – Housing First Minnesota Foundation President spoke and thanked the BATC – Housing First Members who participated in these projects and thank Homeward Bound for the Community Partnership.

Homeward Bound spoke as well and thanked everyone in attendance for the renovations that have changed the spaces immensely. The new flooring helps to make the Brooklyn Park home look clean and warm. The bathrooms have provided much-needed roll-in-showers. The roll-in showers give the individuals we provide services to an option of a bath or shower. The new space accommodates all of their needs.

Thank you to the BATC Foundation and to its many members who contributed to this project. A special thanks to Minnesota Rusco and Contract Interiors for their generosity of spirit. Their talent, time, and skills make the lives of those we serve with disabilities better!
