Operation Round-Up

Grant Funds for Camp

Wright Hennepin Electric Trust (WHET) is the philanthropic arm of the Wright-Hennepin Cooperative Electric Association in Rockford, MN. Through a wonderful program called Operation Round Up, customers are able to round up their electric bills. These funds are then distributed back into the community. Since 1994, members of Wright-Hennepin have donated almost $3.9 million dollars to local charities through the Operation Round Up program.

Since 2005, over $41,000 has made its way to Homeward Bound’s camp program enabling 44 individuals from Homeward Bound to experience a week at camp!

Camp provides life-changing experiences that enhance independence and self-esteem for children and adults with disabilities.  Camps Courage and Camp Friendship offer many great programs such as pontoon rides, lakefront music, and singing around the campfire. Their water sports sampler provides access to the joy of fishing, swimming, and tubing!

Camp funding provides the chance for the individuals to break free of their normal routine and enjoy new experiences. We are so very grateful to Wright-Hennepin for helping to allow the wonderful individuals we support, opportunities they do not get to experience on a regular basis. Not to mention, memories to last a lifetime!
