National Nurses Day

Every year, National Nurses Day falls on May 6th and kicks off the beginning of the week long Nurse Appreciation Week that ends on May 12th, Florence Nightingale’s Birthday. A lot has changed in the field since Florence first changed people’s minds about nursing as a professional role and set the standards that we still use in nursing today. Nurses remain today the most trusted profession in America for the 17th year in a row! We should all take great pride in our profession and the work we do every day.

This is an especially trying time due to the pandemic crossing the US, which has not left us at Homeward Bound untouched. So many nurses (and staff) stepped up when individuals became sick and put their whole hearts into taking care of them, that thank you will never be able to be said enough. But we tried, and handed out to all the nurses’ gift bags with candies and gift cards with Thank You cards trying to express all the thanks we have. So once again from everyone at Homeward Bound to all our wonderful nurses- THANK YOU!!
