Community Collaborations

To The Rescue

Homeward Bound like many other organizations serving those with disabilities has had a tough time of it lately due to the COVID-19 Crisis. We find ourselves in need of many items that were not thought of daily prior to COVID-19. We need Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as, facemasks, face shields, gowns, and hand sanitizer.

We have been able to obtain these items with the help of the community. Many individuals have donated, our Board of Directors, families, and giving and kind donors who believe in our important mission have supported us with cash and in-kind donations. I would like to name a few:

Thanks so much to All Hands MN a nonprofit that was started by Tattersall Distilling along with DuNord Craft Spirits and Brother Justus Whiskey. They produce hand sanitizer that is approved by the World Health Organization. So far, they have donated over 60,000 gallons of sanitizer to the community. They donate to homeless shelters, first responders, law enforcement, schools and nonprofits in the community. Homeward Bound has received two very large donations of hand sanitizer from All Hands MN.

We have also received a hand sanitizer donation from Ceramic Industrial Coatings, a local company in Osseo who is using their expertise to make hand sanitizer and donate it to the community. Upscaled Designs, a local screen printing company, is making and donating face shields to frontline healthcare workers and local nonprofits. They have made a very generous donation of face shields to Homeward Bound. The Brooklyn Park Fire department donated facemasks collected from the community.

Deeply Thankful

There are so many wonderful companies in Minnesota doing wonderful work that has nothing to do with their normal everyday business. They have turned their businesses during this COVID-19 crisis into workhorses that make, distribute, and donate much needed PPE items to the community.

Suffice it to say that Homeward Bound could not do it without the support of our wonderful community and the many giving individuals and businesses who choose to rise the occasion and be superheroes. Superheroes, just like our Homeward Bound Direct Support Professionals and Nurses who care for those in need every day without thinking of themselves.

Thank you to the many community collaborators who are giving and supporting those in need and supporting organizations like Homeward Bound.
