Your gift of time can influence the lives of children and adults with disabilities in many ways. Homeward Bound has a number of opportunities; click on the link below to find how what fits you or your group best.
Homeward Bound recruits, trains and supports volunteers who are compassionate, sensitive and conscientious people motivated to make a difference in the lives of those we serve. These volunteers will be community members, family members, neighbors, corporations and other civic or service organizations who want to be involved with an organization that makes a difference!
Volunteer opportunities at Homeward Bound
Special Events / Fundraising: Homeward Bound needs volunteers for special events. These events help raise the money needed to provide community access opportunities, adaptive equipment, supplies, etc., for children and adults with developmental disabilities. This is a great way to meet new people and help Homeward Bound at the same time! Your volunteer group is also welcome. Join us for the fun!
Maintenance Support/Building/Yard projects/Renovations: Assist in fixing equipment, repairing damaged furniture, renovating kitchens, woodworking, lawn maintenance, planting and raking, window washing, painting, cleaning carpets, repairing clothing, doing alterations, etc. Projects can range from planting flowers to building decks.
Arts & Crafts Activities: Conduct a craft project at one of our Homeward Bound homes. Use your people skills and craft talents to encourage individuals and family members to get involved in a fun, creative project.
Performance Groups/Hosts for Picnics, Barbecues & Parties: Visit a home to sing, dance, put on a magic show, etc. or maybe you are interested in hosting a picnic, barbecue or party. We love to gather with groups and spend time together.
Create your own: Homeward Bound desires to form relationships with people in the community. You know yourself or your group best. Tell us what you are interested in doing so that we can all benefit from this relationship.
