Thank you to Great Harvest Bakery-Minnetonka and your community for supporting this wonderful event benefiting children and adults with disabilities!

On Saturday and Sunday, March 19th and 20th, Great Harvest Bakery in Minnetonka was home to 60+ volunteers from Homeward Bound. Great Harvest’s annual fund-raising event benefiting Homeward Bound was a blast! Throughout both days, Homeward Bound volunteers which were made up of Homeward Bound staff, family members and friends worked in various areas of Great Harvest’s Bakery.

On Sunday, when the doors opened at 8:00am, Homeward Bound was ready!  Through pre-order sales, Homeward Bound was able to prepare for how much baking they needed to do and was able to have the pre-orders ready in time for pick-up. The most popular were the cinnamon rolls and they were delicious. Speaking of delicious, if you were one of the lucky ones to show up between 10 and noon you received a free cinnamon roll courtesy of Minnetonka Patch!

It was a special delight to area residents to stop in because Great Harvest is closed on Sunday’s. The area churches were informed via their bulletins that they were open on this Sunday. They stopped by to buy a loaf or two of delicious bread baked by none other than Homeward Bound. We sure hope we don’t lose any employees to bakery school, now that we know how much fun it is to be a Baker for the Day!
